Only Those Who Are Prepared For The Future Will Survive The Recession

We all know that the world's economy is in free fall, and we all know that over the next few months things will get worse. For most people this is going to mean going without things. If you are lucky it will mean going without the little extras that make life fun, things like cars (selling it and using public transport or walking), not going out in the evenings, eating economy foods instead of the good stuff, etc. In some cases the recession may make you more healthy as you will not be able to eat as much, will have to quit smoking, give up drinking alcohol, etc. However for a lot of people it will be worse, loosing their home and living on the street for example.

Now the important question for you is which of these three groups will you be in:
1. The worst hit - those who will end up living on the street, begging for food.
2. The less badly hit - those who simply have to cut back and give up a few things (like going out, driving, eating good food, etc)
3. The incredibly small group of people who suffer no real hardship.

If you think you do not have to worry because you are in the third group, then you are most definitely wrong. The people who will be in the third group are those who think that they will be in groups 1 or 2 so are doing something about it NOW. If you think that you will be OK, then get your begging bowl ready - you WILL need it!

The good news: You will have come to this page out of choice, so you are already worrying about the future, and you have read this far, so you are at least thinking about what to do. Now the bad news: You are going to have to think for yourself. Do not just read this page but think about what it says, and then act quickly. Remember - when the brown sticky stuff hits the fan it will be too late to act. You must read this page carefully, do not skim anything, read carefully and think about what you are reading. As you do so, think how the recession will change your own life. Don't bury your head in the sand, however safe you think your job is, it is not 100% secure, no person can safely assume that they will not be made redundant.

And even if you do get to keep your job, your salary is not going to increase at the same rate prices will increase. The only way businesses will be able to survive is to put up prices at a greater rate than they put up salaries. At the moment, if you have money you are lucky, there are plenty of bargains to be had as companies cut their prices to encourage you to buy from them. But this cannot last, businesses cannot constantly trade at a loss. What will happen is the poorly prepared companies will die. Those that were well prepared for the recession will survive. But once their unprepared rivals have gone bankrupt they will be able to put their prices up again. Also, they will need to make back the money they lost when they were offering bargains, so the prices will have to go even higher than they would be if the credit crunch had not happened. However, they will undo all this if they use up the money in increased salaries, so the employees - you - will find that their pay is no match for inflation. You will be in no position to fight this, remember the companies who have not prepared for the coming recession will go bankrupt, leaving a lot of people unemployed. These people will be desperate, and some will be fully qualified to take over your job. If you complain to your boss about the fact that you can no longer afford to live on what he pays you, he simply has to fire you and hire someone else.

Unless you are a fool you will now be worrying about this. But the real worry is that this is not the "worst case scenario". This assumes that the company you are working for is one of the well prepared companies that survives the coming recession. But what if the company you work for is not well prepared. Remember those who are not prepared will not survive. How will you know if your company is not well prepared? Simple, when it folds up and you loose your job - that will be how you know they are unprepared. And at that point it will be too late for you. There will be plenty of people in your position, every job you apply for will have hundreds, possibly thousands, of applicants. The law of averages dictates that at least one of those people will be a better choice for the job than you.

So what can you do to get yourself into group three, to make yourself into one of the people who are no affected by the coming recession?

As I said earlier you have made the first move already by reading this page. That shows you are already thinking about the problem. That may seem like a small thing, but less than 1 in 100 people who see a mention of this page actually visit it. So, if you are reading this you are in the top 1%. But that is not enough. Thinking alone will not help you. You have to take action too. You may be feeling that having got this far you are obviously demonstrated an intention to do something. If so you are a rare and special person. Of the people who visit this page, less than 1 in 100 actually go on further and actually do anything about it. You must be one of that 1% The others simply read this page and think "I'll do something tomorrow", but nearly everyone who "leaves it until tomorrow", never get round to it. And even if they do come back in a few days/weeks time IT WILL PROBABLY BE TOO LATE, you must not be one of these people. You must ACT NOW.

Think about what you will loose if you are not prepared for the recession. What is your favourite pastime? Think how you will feel when you have to give it up. Of all the things you own, which one do you love the most? Think how you will feel when you have to sell it. Now let those thoughts motivate you. You don't want them to happen. But you know that if you are not prepared you will loose those things. Let that thought spur you on, let it panic you, let it make you act now because you know that if you wait it will be too late.

If you are not going to be one of the (majority) of people who will loose out big time when the recession bites, you need an extra income stream. One that will make up for what you will loose in the near future. And you need to set it up right now, these things take a short while to get established, and you must get it established before it is too late.

So how are you going to do this? Well the purpose of this page is simply to warn you of the dangers; to get you in the right mindset to act and to get you to save yourself from disaster. I am going to have to give you a link to another site to get information you want on how to do this. But when you go there remember everything I said, think about what you read on that site, but also keep thinking about what I said here. As you read through the information you get remember that feeling of loss you felt when I told you to think about loosing the thing you love the most. And remember that you will only prevent this happening if you act now.
